Solar-ready carport and store under one roof.

A carport for two cars and a small locked store in Forestville, California, under one folded roof. The roof is low over the cars, six foot eight at the open end, and rises to eleven foot seven over the store.

The roof is standing seam metal on fourteen-inch joists, sized to take solar panels later, with room in the store for the batteries.

The walls are fiber cement with a V-groove. A two-inch gap under the eave, screened against insects, ventilates the roof along its full length. A barn door closes the store on the west side, and there's one window, facing north. Only the store has a slab: four inches, sloped a quarter inch per foot to drain. The cars park on bluestone and fines, so rain goes into the ground.
